I have an update on the egregious violation of its citizens' rights that the Uniontown, OH School Board committed and I reported here.

Over at The Friendly Atheist I found this entry about how NYC will start seeing atheist sponsored advertisements on their Busses. This is a great move, I think we should try something like this down here in Atlanta, GA. Here's an picture of the ad:

Most people do not know what or who Atheists are. Many preachers, both Christian and otherwise, say things about atheists that are simply not true. Perhaps it is from ignorance but I think, in most cases, it is from a desire to denigrate and demonize a group that represents the antithesis of what they believe and want their congregations to believe. Preachers have a vested interest in keeping their "flock" close and convincing them that groups outside theirs are somehow unsavory.

How I Became an Atheist -

This vid describes my transition from a fundamentalist Baptist up bringing to my current Atheistic world view. I hope that those struggling with the same questions might hear my story and take heart that they are not alone and that the logical conclusion that you are struggling against is not as bleak as you may think.

Being a comparison between Theist Morality and Atheist Morality, this video discusses the various moral precepts that we can all agree on and then delves into the major areas of disagreement.

I couldn't find good resources on the internet for where our ethics come from so here are some books I recommend that discuss the subject and point to other resources in their bibliographies.
